Eric S. Heinz
Founder & Managing Partner, Heinz Ventures
Eric Heinz brings an engineer’s precision and a governance-first, judgment-driven approach to his work as Founder and Managing Partner of Heinz Ventures. He began his career as an engineer at Medtronic Sofamor Danek, where he developed a disciplined approach to evaluating technical risk, product performance, and decision-making in regulated environments, an approach that continues to guide his professional work today.
Over more than two decades in the medical technology industry, Eric has held leadership roles spanning product development, commercialization, and corporate development. He has led and supported teams responsible for regulated medical products generating over $1 billion in annual revenue and has participated in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions totaling more than $250 million. Most recently, as Vice President of Market and Corporate Development at Titan Medical, he guided a strategic alternatives process during a pivotal period in the company’s evolution.
Eric’s work is grounded in independent judgment, fiduciary responsibility, and clarity in complex situations. In addition to leading Heinz Ventures, he serves as an independent board director and advisor to medical technology companies and provides expert witness and transaction advisory services in matters involving regulated products. His engagements emphasize disciplined analysis, risk assessment, and well-defined scope, particularly where technical, regulatory, and commercial considerations intersect.

A sought-after speaker and panelist, Eric frequently lectures on early-stage venture capital and entrepreneurship. His background spans public, private, and non-profit organizations, enabling him to collaborate effectively with boards, senior management teams, and counsel across a range of contexts.
