Founder, CEO and Managing Partner

Eric brings an engineer’s precision and problem-solving mindset to his role as the Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of Heinz Ventures. Starting his career as an engineer at Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Eric developed a rigorous approach to assessing business risks and opportunities—one that he continues to apply in both venture investing and leadership today.

Eric’s technical expertise spans twelve functional specialties, and he has a proven track record leading teams that developed regulated medical products generating over $1 billion in annual revenue. He has also led mergers and acquisitions worth more than $250 million, consistently driving growth and innovation. In his most recent executive role as VP of Market and Corporate Development at Titan Medical, Eric led a strategic alternatives process during a challenging time in the company's life.

Heinz Ventures reflects Eric’s deep commitment to supporting early-stage medtech companies that bring life-changing solutions to market. His industry leadership extends to mentoring through Health Wildcatters, serving as a judge for Medtech Innovator, and advising prominent institutions like the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and the University of Chicago Polsky Center for Innovation. Eric’s broad functional expertise—from product development engineering to corporate development—makes him a trusted partner for medtech startups navigating complex challenges.

In addition to leading his venture fund, Eric provides consulting services as a fractional CxO, board member, and M&A advisor. His leadership and influence in the industry have earned him a place in the Top 1% of LinkedIn’s Industry Social Selling Index.
