Nishant Shah, MD

Nishant Shah, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained anesthesiologist specializing in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine. He spent more than a decade as a partner with Midwest Anesthesia Partners at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and now practices at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, where he teaches residents as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. As Medical Director of Illinois Sports Medicine & Outpatient Surgery Center, he built and led its same-day outpatient total joint replacement program. He co-founded Rapid Recovery Pathways, whose patient-selection algorithm and care pathways were acquired by Smith+Nephew, and has advised companies including Smith+Nephew, Edwards Lifesciences, and FujiFilm Sonosite.

At Heinz Ventures, he provides clinical diligence across medical technologies, assessing unmet need, workflow fit, evidence requirements, and physician adoption.
